I usually try to post my own content on Picturette but I couldn't help but share this. If you are planning your own wedding at the moment, or if you love weddings as much as I do, you will love Hello May. Hello May is a new kind of bridal blog + magazine + directory. While there are plenty of bridal magazines and websites out there, Hello May felt that "none quite connected wedding vendors and brides-to-be so that you can really get to know (and like!) the photographer, stylists, stationery designer or make up artist involved in the intricacies of your day". Hello May aims to remedy that. Hello May magazine Hello May's debut issue is out this month. You can read it here. And Em and Soph, the amazing girls behind Hello May, were lovely enough to feature one of my card designs, it's the Mr & Mrs card. So I'm sharing the love and asking you to visit their blog, flip through their online magazine or like their facebook page and be inspired. :)

Formal – week forty-two.

Better late than never! One of the reasons I have been so busy this month is because I've been to four weddings, yep four! And I still have one to go. So I thought formal would be an appropriate word for this week. Now the challenge is on to get this Friday's illustration done before I fly to Western Australia for the next wedding :)

I have been designing some new greeting cards recently. I don't particularly like a lot of the cards available in shops--especially wedding cards. And as I am going to be a guest at a couple of weddings soon I thought I would make my own.  I decided that simple designs would be best... no champagne corks popping, no wedding rings or love hearts and not a bride or groom in sight! I even printed some 'Fill in the Blank" cards that can be used for almost any occasion, not just weddings. So what do you think? Are you tired of giving boring cards too? These cards are available now in my Etsy store.

And I won't scare you by posting them just yet but I have some new Christmas cards coming soon. :)

One of the reasons I took a little holiday a few weeks ago was so I could attend a couple of weddings. This is the wedding of Lucinda and Gus. Having known Lucinda for such a long time I was honoured when she asked me to photograph her and Gus' wedding. Thank you both for such a fun and memorable day. And a big thanks to Damian and Tristan for their help on the day. ❤
